42 Rolamat Air-Loada systems have now been delivered as the first part of a single contract for a favourite airline based at Heathrow Airport in London. A mixture of reefers, Q6 and Q7 trailers make up the fleet with a further 20-30 systems agreed.
In excess of 40 Air-Loada systems have been supplied as ground support transport equipment for various teams involved in Grand Prix racing in the past year. A number of the systems have been specifically designed to provide a second deck for both rigid truck and articulated trailer use. With second deck application 2 rows of Rolamat gravity conveyor are fixed to the panel walls to act as a guide for purpose built loading platforms carrying spare parts, tools etc.
A new innovation in roller bed application. A 13.6m flat floor reefer or standard trailer can now be converted to a roller bed floor in approximately 30 minutes. The 4 removable sections are 90mm deep and are of a width to enable them to clear the rear aperture. The control box is also detachable from the trailer chassis. No longer is a dedicated roller bed trailer a necessity.
The latest version of Power-Loada has just been installed to a 13.6m trailer unit in Frankfurt, Germany. Radial force of the 24v DC motor has been increased to a staggering 200kg per roller. This gives the system in the order of 67% more power than any other drive system currently known to be in production.
Installed in late 1998 the Rolaload dock is now dispatching 57 pallets totalling 228 steel drums in one operation. Specially designed, the dock is capable of through loading a draw bar attachment without detachment from the main unit. The dock is also adjustable to cater for different trailer height operations.
Having been commissioned in May 1999 the two Rolaload automated unloading docks have been successfully operating at -28 degrees centigrade around the clock ever since. The aim is for 85% of the company's own product to be handled by the docks, a figure that should be achieved in the early part of 2000.

The principle of using pneumatically raised rollers to move loads, safely and efficiently, implemented within:
Robust in design, Air Loada is a reliable and easily maintained product which can be fitted to most vehicles during initial build or retrofitted at a later date.
Recognising the high cost in time and money to carry out servicing, every module is designed to be totally dismantled by the simple removal of just two screws.
When inflated, the rollers allow easy controlled movement of heavy or cumbersome loads, whilst deflation will allow the load to lower to a safe and static position.
Air-Loada is used in static locations within manufacturing environments to move assembly line products, test equipment or any flat-based heavy loads.
As a result of the Rolamat commitment to product development, the many engineering changes incorporated into this track include:
Top plate location channels giving the track added protection from side impact of non palletised loads, especially where fork-lift trucks are in use.
The flanged base of the channel means the track is now quicker and easier to install, using screws, bolts or clamps.
A new and even more robust roller assembly ensuring even better performance and system longevity.
To keep ongoing maintenance costs as low as possible, components are interchangeable between previous track types.
Operator safety is also enhanced by the use of light reflective bearing caps.
After much research and testing a new Electro/Pneumatic valve has been released for use to control the air system in the event of the operator failing to lower the rollers before moving off. This controlling valve will, on the first touch of vehicle breaks, automatically exhaust all air from the air cell to lower the rollers safely on the vehicle floor. Pressurised air will be prevented from entering the aircell until a positive manual reset valve is released.
Power-Loada is a convenient and cost effective means of moving Air-Cargo pallets or other unit loads.
Drawing both electrical and pneumatic power from the vehicle makes Power-Loada a neat, self-contained system usable at any remote location.
When used in conjunction with Air-Loada, automatically unloading a 13.6m trailer can take a matter of minutes.
The wide urethane covered drum, is driven by a 24 volt integral motor and planetary gearbox to provide 1600N tangential force.
The roller drum is raised by an air bag in order to transmit the driving force to the load.
Importantly, loading is controlled remotely via an external control unit, keeping the operator at safe distance.
The roller, motor and wiring are contained within an easily installed control box. The Power-Loada system, including Air-Loada Track can be installed during initial build or retrofitted at a later time
Power-Loada can be installed into flatbed, step-frame or ridged vehicles.
A clever adaptation and combination of existing technologies has seen the introduction of a new high lifting track by Rolamat.
The system provides greater clearance between the load and the rollers to ensure a smooth and safe transfer.
A full 42mm of lifting height is achieved by a combination of Air-Loada track and a specially designed channel and lifting plate.
This special track is sufficiently compact to be used with other conveying or powering devices to provide a fully automatic right-angle transfer unit.

There are times when conventional loading devices can not be used, such as in narrow spaces, where a removable roller track may be the perfect solution.
The cost and inconvenience of forklift trucks, has been overcome by equipping existing dollies with pneumatic roller track. A safer, environmentally cleaner solution to moving heavy pallets than using forklifts.
Purpose built show vans, such as used by banks, training institutions and utility suppliers have improved efficiency after being fitted with pneumatic roller track. These vehicles are driven on-road as normal transport, but also contain a complete inner room which slides out. When the pneumatic roller track supporting the body is inflated, one person can pull out the whole room, saving time and manpower.
On the ground or in the air the Rolamat Conveyor can be relied upon to perform as designed. Rolamat static conveyors have been installed in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, on assembly lines and inside aircraft.
Built to the same standards as the Air-Loada tracks and with each roller capable of supporting up to 225kg the static conveyors are robust and reliable.
